Eucharia-Anunobi Ekwu Biography

Born on 25th May 1965 in Owerri, Imo State, Eucharia Anunobi hails from Mbaise in the heart of Igboland. She is one of Nollywood’s most iconic names, a woman whose presence on screen and in life has left lasting footprints.

After studying Mass Communication and later earning a degree in English, Eucharia’s path led her to Nollywood, where she became a household name through the classic Glamour Girls. From there, her career soared. With over 90 films to her credit, including the unforgettable Abuja Connection, she continues to be celebrated, even clinching a 2020 AMVCA nomination.

But Eucharia’s story goes beyond the silver screen. In 2012, she answered a higher call, becoming a pastor in Lagos, where she now uses her platform to inspire, heal, and minister through faith.

Her personal life, however, has been marked by both joy and profound pain. In 2000, she married Charles Ekwu, and together they welcomed her beloved son, Raymond. He wasn’t just her child; he was her heartbeat, her best friend. But life dealt her a crushing blow—her marriage ended in 2006, and in 2017, she lost Raymond to sickle cell anemia.

Eucharia often speaks of how the pain of losing a child never truly fades. Yet, she embodies strength, choosing to live with resilience and unwavering faith. Her life today is a powerful testament that even in brokenness, one can still rise, shine, and impact lives.
