Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda (born 8 August 1968) is a Nigerian politician from Plateau State, an engineer, and an academic who serves as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction in Nigeria, appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in October 2024.

Nentawe was the flagbearer for his party in the 2023 gubernatorial elections in Plateau state. Between July 2017 and December 2021, he held the position of resident electoral commissioner in Benue State.

Also, he was the ICT director at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, for 12 years.

In 2017, President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda as Benue State resident electoral commissioner.

To address the prevalence of disenfranchisement of internally displaced persons, Nentawe was involved in the successful management of voting in IDP camps and for people living with disabilities. Other contributions were made in the assessment of the electronic voting system.

Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda Early Life

Nentawe was born on 8 August 1968 in Dungung, Kanke. From 1981 to 1986, he attended Boy’s Secondary School (BSS) Gindiri.

He later secured admission into the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi.
